“A Mother’s Burden” for Trail of Tears Park in Princeton, KY

I has so honored to be commissioned to create the Trail of Tears memorial in Princeton, Kentucky. Special thanks go to all of the members of the Trail of Tears committee, my father George W. Large II, Mayor Danny Beavers, Linda Higgins, Jannette Parent, Melissa Peek of the Princeton Art Guild and everyone who donated to the project!! This 4 foot bas relief in bronze seeks to honor and forever remember the needless deaths of over 4000 Cherokee people during their forced relocation to Oklahoma in the 1830′s.
